About the Author

    Cindy Jobe Heffernan’s father loved telling imaginative bedtime stories, which inspired Cindy to do the same with her children. Cindy is a wife and mother of three, an aunt to 15, and a great aunt to 22 - and is looking forward to grandchildren someday!

Cindy’s professional career covered 25 years of healthcare marketing and communications mostly for BJC HealthCare in St. Louis, Missouri. She now lends her time to children’s charities and has a special spot in her heart for Friends of Kids with Cancer and the Ronald McDonald House Charities of St. Louis. 

She is a proud alum of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority at the University of Missouri and served as an adviser to KKG chapters at both Washington University and Westminster College in Missouri. She also served on the St. Louis Kappa Kappa Gamma Alumnae Association Board. 

Cindy and her husband, Mark, lived for several months at the Conley Family Farm, where they befriended a vivacious herd of alpacas. Cindy forged a special bond with one of the alpacas. This exuberant and gregarious character was named Abby and she 

inspired the series, Abby the Alpaca’s Great Adventures.
